What it means
Bitter, annoyed, or resentful, usually over something minor or after losing. If someone is being grumpy and petty about not getting their way, they're being salty.
Examples
- He's still salty that I beat him at Mario Kart last week.

- She got so salty when I said her playlist was mid.
- I'm not salty, I just think the ref was clearly blind.
Where it comes from
Comes from older American/military slang linking salt to tears, sweat, and bitterness; it spread widely through gaming and Twitter culture in the 2010s to describe sore losers.
