noun🔥 Gen-Z slang

rizz

charm or flirting skill

What it means

Rizz is your ability to charm, flirt, or attract a romantic interest through smooth conversation and charisma. If someone "has rizz," they make flirting look effortless. If they "have no rizz," they fumble every chance they get. It can also be used as a verb — to "rizz someone up" is to win them over with charm.

Examples

  • He's got serious rizz — he had her laughing within thirty seconds of saying hi.
  • I finally talked to my crush and completely froze. Zero rizz.
  • She walked over, dropped one smooth line, and got his number. Unmatched rizz.
  • Bro really thought that pickup line had rizz. It did not.

Where it comes from

Short for charisma. Popularized by Twitch streamer Kai Cenat around 2021–2022, it exploded on TikTok and was crowned Oxford Word of the Year in 2023.
