adjective🔥 Gen-Z slang
cooked
in big trouble, done for
What it means
In serious trouble, doomed, or completely out of options. If you're 'cooked,' the situation is hopeless; it can also mean utterly exhausted or, separately, that something was done brilliantly ('he cooked' = he killed it).
Examples
- I have three exams tomorrow and haven't studied, I'm cooked.
- Once the boss saw the report, he knew he was cooked.
- We're so cooked if we miss this train.
- Bro really cooked with that comeback though, no replies.
Where it comes from
An evolution of older slang like 'done' or 'toast,' it surged on TikTok and Twitch around 2022-2023, used both for being doomed and (as 'let him cook') for doing something impressively.
